Bhadrak: In a tragic road accident, a couple was killed after a speeding truck hit the bike they were travelling in near Dhurpada under Town Police Station limits in Kendujhar district.
According to reports, a man and a woman were travelling on a bike when a speeding truck coming from behind hit their two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that both riders came under the truck. The woman was reportedly dragged for about 200 meters. Both of them died on the spot.
The deceased are yet to be identified, though it is confirmed that one is male and one is female. After the accident, the truck driver reportedly fled from the spot.
Upon being informed, Kendujhar Town Police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, police have launched an effort to trace the absconding truck.
