Cuttack: Actor and MP Anubhav Mohanty today appeared in the Cuttack SDJM court once again in the domestic violence case filed by his wife actress Varsha Priyadarshini.
Varsha was also present in the court. In the presence of the star couple, the court counseled both husband and wife for more than five hours.
Varsha had filed a domestic violence case alleging assault, verbal abuse, and threats.
Last week, the family court dismissed the petition for divorce after a long time.
“The divorce petition filed by Anubhav Mohanty has been rejected by the court. The court also felt that Varsha’s life is not secured. Hence, she can’t live with him, Lawyer of the actress said.
On the other hand, Anubhav said he will soon challenge the order of the family court in higher forum.
“I am delighted that the complainant has appeared in the court personally for the first time. I am grateful to her. She came to the court only after the police and court issued notice. I am ready to face the trial in the domestic violence case filed by her. I will also soon move the higher forum against the lower court order. We had provided sufficient evidence on four grounds we have mentioned in the divorce petition. Still, the court rejected it,” Mohanty said.
