Bhubaneswar: While the 75-day-long free precaution dose drive of Covid Vaccination under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will end on September 30, a whopping 75 per cent of the eligible population in Odisha remains to be administered with the precaution dose.
“Currently, we are emphasizing administration of precaution dose. A total of 80,90,000 doses of the Covid Vaccine’s precaution dose which include health care workers, frontline workers, 18-59-year age group and more than 60-year age group. It is 25 per cent of our total target,” informed Dr Bijay Panigrahi, Family Welfare Director-cum- State Nodal Officer for Immunization here today.
Dr Panigrahi appealed to all who have completed six months since they took their second dose of Covid vaccine to take their precaution dose at the earliest.
He informed that only 27 days are left for free administration of precaution dose to the eligible population in the 18-59-year age group.
Dr Panigrahi also appealed to people to take their second dose who have not taken despite it being due.
A total of 23 lakh people across Odisha have not taken their second dose despite being due, he added.
He said a total of 7.59 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in our State.
