Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of cricket enthusiasts gathered near the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, eager to grab tickets for the India-South Africa T20 match on December 9. Despite police warnings to avoid nighttime crowds, fans began assembling near the ticket counter gates, prompting police to disperse the crowd.
Offline ticket sales will commence at 9 am on Friday, December 5, at designated counters near the stadium. Authorities have implemented extensive security measures, including serpentine barricades and CCTV surveillance, to ensure a smooth and safe experience for spectators.
The police have deployed a significant force, including nine Additional SPs, 40 DSPs, 65 Inspectors, and 70 platoons of police, to manage the crowd and ensure player safety. One ODRAF unit and two Special Tactical Unit (STU) teams will also be on standby for emergency response.
Online ticket sales have already been completed, with only offline tickets available from Friday. Fans are advised to purchase tickets from authorised counters to avoid scams and the black market.
