Nuapada: A havildar of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his AK-47 assault rifle at Barkot CRPF camp under Komna police station in Nuapada district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Pratap of Haryana. He was on duty in the guard room on the campus in the morning when he shot himself with his service AK-47 rifle.
On being informed, Komna police reached the spot and launched an investigation. They have also sent the body for post-mortem. It has not been ascertained why Pratap took the extreme step.
