Bhubaneswar: Dharakote police arrested a CRPF jawan among five persons involved in the robbery of a jewellery shop on July 13 in the locality in Ganjam district.
Police have seized silver weighing 2 kilograms, gold weighing 150 grams and Rs 58,000 cash from their possession.
According to sources, the accused were involved in the robbery at Shri Rudra Sai gold shop on July 13, where they looted 3 kilograms of gold, 8 kilograms of silver ornaments, and Rs 2 lakh in cash. During the investigation, police discovered an inter-state gang’s involvement and went to Maharashtra to nab the culprits. However, they were shocked to find that the gang was being operated by a CRPF jawan from Bihar.
Out of the eight accused, five have been arrested, while three remain at large. The police are further investigating.
