Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has permitted the Puja committees in Bhubaneswar to organize cultural programs till 12 mid-night instead of 10 PM during Durga Puja later this month.
It was decided at a meeting between police and Puja committees in the presence of three MLAs of Bhubaneswar, fire department officials, power distribution company officials, and other senior officials.
Police have advised the committees to avoid vibrating music or DJ during immersion festivals. Special measures have been taken for traffic management and law enforcement.
This time, 183 idols will be worshiped in different pandals in Bhubaneswar.
Similarly, Rs 5.35 crore has been granted for the repair of rain-damaged roads and drainage.
DCP Prateek Singh said strict security arrangements have been made to make the Puja crime-free. The police will keep an eye on the criminals of the city and state. Police will patrol on the streets in civilian clothes to prevent theft.
