Bhubaneswar: The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Cuttack, Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, has urged residents to strictly follow pollution control guidelines during the Diwali celebrations.

In a press briefing on Sunday, he emphasised that ‘green firecrackers’ should only be burst between 7 pm and 9 pm, as per the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) advisory, to minimise environmental impact and ensure public safety.

Dnyandeo also requested families to celebrate responsibly by using open spaces for firecrackers and cautioned against allowing small children to burst crackers. He appealed to the public to be considerate of neighbors and pedestrians by avoiding firecrackers in crowded areas.

To maintain law and order during the festive period, the Cuttack Police have arranged increased patrolling and static deployments throughout the city. The DCP assured that safety measures will be strictly enforced to guarantee a peaceful celebration.

For Kali Puja, security arrangements have been further strengthened. A total of 64 police platoons will be deployed across Cuttack to manage crowd control and ensure smooth festivities.
