Cuttack: The woman, who has levelled serious allegations of exploitation both physical and financial against Ollywood playback singer Shourin Bhatt on Monday, today recorded her statement under section 164 CrPC before a magistrate.
“Following registration of the case at Mahila Police Station on Monday we had got the victim medically examined at SCB Medical College & Hospital. Today we have sent her to the court to get her statement recorded under section 164,” informed Amitabh Mohapatra, ACP Zone II briefing reporters today.
The ACP said that after the complainant informs about the places she had visited and stayed with Shourin Bhatt the police will visit those places conduct enquiry and collect evidence.
The complainant had told the police that she had met with Bhatt last in April, he added.
“We have registered the case under sections 376, 493, 417, 341, 323, 294, 506 of the IPC,” informed Mohapatra.
Mohapatra added that the police had tried to reach Bhatt by phone, but his mobile phones were switched off.
“We are collecting evidence. If evidence is sufficient for Bhatt’s arrest, a police team will visit Kolkata to trace and arrest him. If he desires to keep his side of things he can visit us and keep his side,” the ACP said.
