Cuttack’s Silver Filigree Gets GI Tag

Bhubaneswar: The silver filigree (Chandi Tarakasi) of Cuttack has been accorded Geographical Indications (GI) tag.

According to Geographical Indications Registry,  the Odisha State Co-operative Handicrafts Corporation Limited which had filed an application on July 1, 2021 seeking Geographical Indications for Cuttack Silver Filigree (Chandi Tarakasi) under ‘Handi Crafts’.

The Registry has mentioned the status as ‘Registered’, while the ‘Certificate Date’ has been mentioned as March 1, 2024.

The Registration is valid up to June 30, 2031.
