Bhubaneswar: Power supply has been restored to 99.28 per cent of consumers affected by Cyclone Arnab and subsequent flooding in southern Odisha, with TPSODL reconnecting 17,75,975 of the 17,88,942 affected consumers as of 8 PM on Monday, the Energy Department said.

Electricity supply to the remaining 12,967 consumers is being restored on a priority basis, with field engineers and technical teams working round the clock to repair localised faults.

According to the department, six districts — Boudh, Rayagada, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur — have achieved 100 per cent power restoration.

Restoration work is in its final stages in Kandhamal and Ganjam districts. While Kandhamal has recorded 99.78 per cent restoration, with 325 consumers yet to be reconnected, Ganjam has achieved 98.48 per cent restoration.

The department said all 46 affected 33-kV feeders, 130 affected 33/11-kV primary substations (PSS) and 658 affected 11-kV feeders have been fully restored.

Similarly, 277 of the 278 affected power transformers (PTRs) and 56,443 of the 56,706 distribution transformers (DTRs) have been brought back into operation.

Technical teams continue to work on a war footing to restore electricity supply to all remaining affected consumers at the earliest, the department added.
