Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into northeast and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Also, the cyclonic circulation over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast persists and is
extending up to 5.1 km above mean sea level tilting southwestward with height.
Under the impact of the system, light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and at a few places over the rest of the districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, the IMD said in its latest bulletin.
The IMD has issued a ‘yellow warning’ predicting thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri with heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Koraput, and Malkangiri during the next 24 hours.
The sky will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of moderate rain or thundershower in Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood during the next 24 hours with maximum and minimum temperature likely to be around 33 degree Centigrade and 25 degree Centigrade respectively.
