Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday expressed his condolences on the death of former Odisha minister and veteran Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Damodar Rout who breathed his last early morning on Friday.
Taking to his X handle, the Chief Minister wrote, “I am saddened to learn about the demise of senior Biju Janata Dal leader and former minister Damodar Rout. This is an irreparable loss in Odisha politics. His work for the service and betterment of the people will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace and my condolences to the bereaved family members.”
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das also expressed deep sorrow over the death of former minister and senior politician Damodar Rout and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and followers. Stating that he had a reputation as an efficient MLA, an active minister, and a popular politician, he wished the departed leader eternal peace.
