Nabarangpur: Unidentified miscreants looted an ATM near the Nabarangpur block office on National Highway No 26 on Tuesday late night.
According to reports, the looters entered the ATM by breaking the lock and opening the ATM using a knife. How much money was robbed from the ATM is yet to be ascertained. Some currency notes were found strewn on the floor of the ATM after the miscreants had left.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The police have started checking the CCTV footage of different locations. During the investigation, the police discovered that the robbers came in a white car and left the vehicle in the Sikili forest.
The said car has been impounded by the police. According to reports, police have detained two people in connection with the incident. The police have started a search operation around the Sikili forest.
The scientific team has collected some samples and is conducting further investigation. Senior police officers led by Nabarangpur SP Rohit Burma are camping at the crime spot.
