Bhubaneswar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is set to conduct a technical survey of the Ratna Bhandar at Puri Jagannath Temple from September 21 to 23, utilizing laser scanning technology. To facilitate the survey, public darshan of the Holy Trinity will be restricted from 2 pm to 6 pm on these three days, informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
The survey, to be carried out by a 17-member team led by the Additional Director General (Conservation and World Heritage) of ASI Janhwij Sharma will utilize laser scanning technology.
During the three-day survey, the temple’s general darshan (viewing) will remain closed during the specified hours.
Meanwhile, the chief administrator of SJTA wrote to the ASI director for early completion of the survey by September 24, ahead of the Dussehra and Kartik month festivities.
This development follows a recent inspection of the Ratna Bhandar by the ASI team, which conducted a thorough examination and laser scanning.
