Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to experience warm and dry weather conditions on Thursday, with day temperatures hovering close to or above 30°C in many districts, according to the Evening Weather Bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Jharsuguda (31.8°C), followed closely by Angul (31.7°C), Titlagarh and Paralakhemundi (31.5°C each), Balangir (31.4°C), and Bhubaneswar (31.2°C). Several other districts, including Bolangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Kendrapada, and Rourkela, also reported maximum temperatures at or above 30°C, indicating a steady rise in daytime heat across the state.

On the cooler side, Daringbadi remained the coldest location, recording a minimum temperature of 11°C, followed by Phulbani (10.5°C) and Bolangir (13.2°C). Minimum temperatures across most districts ranged between 13°C and 17°C, suggesting mild nights despite warmer days.

Relative humidity levels showed considerable variation. Morning humidity remained high in coastal and southern districts such as Cuttack (94%), Chandbali (92%), Puri (84%), and Gopalpur (94%), while afternoon humidity dropped significantly in interior regions like Rourkela (50%), Talcher (52%), and Bolangir (61%), reflecting drier conditions later in the day.

Importantly, no rainfall was recorded in any district during the past 24 hours, with all stations reporting 0.0 mm rainfall, reinforcing the prevailing dry spell across Odisha.

Meteorologists indicate that the combination of rising maximum temperatures and low afternoon humidity may lead to increasing daytime discomfort, particularly in western and interior districts, if current conditions persist.
