Dead body.

Bhubaneswar: A farmer allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison due to financial struggles at Karasuda village under Titilagarh block in Balangir district.

The deceased farmer has been identified as Durga Bhoi, son of Parameswar Bhoi.

According to reports, Durga was struggling to repay a group loan after suffering crop losses in the current year.

The deceased farmer’s cousin, Bhaskar Bhoi, informed that Durga was under stress due to crop losses and inability to repay a group loan. That’s why Durga consumed poison, and his family members first took him to Sindhekela Hospital and then to Titilagarh Sub-Divisional Hospital.

However, the doctor referred him to Balangir District Headquarters Hospital  (DDH). He, however, died while being taken to the DDH. He was declared dead by doctors at the DDH.
