Bhubaneswar: The decomposed body of a minor boy was found stuffed inside a jute sack in a forest near Bariguda village under Bissam Cuttack block of Rayagada district, triggering panic in the area.
According to reports, some local children had gone to the nearby forest to collect forest produce when they spotted a jute sack lying abandoned and noticed a foul smell emanating from it. They immediately informed some elders in the village. After reaching the spot, the villagers cut open the sack and found the decomposed body of a minor inside. The boy was found wearing a half-pant.
The incident came to light after a local youth posted about it on social media, leading to widespread sensation in the locality.
The identity of the deceased minor is yet to be ascertained and discussions are rife over the incident.
It is worth mentioning that a student of Dangasorada residential school under Chandrapur block has been reported missing.
Meanwhile, police said no report has been filed regarding the body found in the sack.
