Bhubaneswar: Dengue cases have surged and is at its peak across Odisha currently. According to Health Department officials, people need not panic but should ensure all hygiene to avoid getting affected by the virus.
As compared to last year’s figures, the peak period of dengue is underway and it is likely to continue till September-end, health officials informed. Meanwhile, testing has been intensified across the State.
Apart from Capital Hospital, dengue testing centres will be operational at RMRC and Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar, reports stated. “Bed count has been increased at all Urban PHCs so we request people who are mildly affected to go there instead of increasing the load at Capital Hospital,” a senior health official said.
The health department also instructed the authorities concerned to raise public awareness about the vector-borne ailment in the ongoing monsoon season.
