Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow’ warning for dense fog in several districts of Odisha over the next 24 hours.
According to the midday weather bulletin released by the IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, and Nayagarh districts.
In addition, shallow to moderate fog is expected during the early morning hours in a few places across the same districts, as well as in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, and Boudh. The IMD has advised residents to exercise caution while traveling, as visibility may be significantly reduced during these conditions.
The weather bulletin also indicated that dry weather is likely to prevail across Odisha, with no significant change in minimum (night) temperatures expected over the next 4-5 days. In the capital city of Bhubaneswar, dense fog is anticipated, with maximum and minimum temperatures forecasted to hover around 33°C and 22°C, respectively.
The IMD’s warning comes as a reminder for commuters and residents to stay vigilant, especially during early morning hours when foggy conditions are expected to be at their peak.
Authorities have urged people to follow safety guidelines and stay updated on weather advisories.
