Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday apprehended one Gourahari Padhy, Data Entry Operator (DEO) in RTO Office Chhatrapur in Ganjam district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000.
According to an official communiqué, Padhy was caught taking a bribe from a complainant for updating of tax in respect of his two vehicles towards exemption of fine amount during the Covid-19 period (from 01.04.2020 to 31.03.2022).
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from Padhy and seized.
Following the trap, a house search is going on at one location of Padhy from the Disproportionate Assets angle.
