Deogarh: In a tragic turn of events, the prime accused in a shocking triple murder case in Gariapali village under Kundheigola police station limits in Deogarh district died late on Saturday night.
The gruesome triple murder incident occurred late on the night of March 11, when accused Ramesh Garia (52), allegedly bludgeoned his wife Kula Garia, daughter-in-law Lipi Mahakula, and four-year-old granddaughter Gayatri Garia to death with a hammer following a heated domestic argument. The victims succumbed to severe head injuries on the spot.
After committing the crime, Ramesh absconded. On March 13, he was spotted climbing a water tank near the village. In a desperate act, he consumed poison before being rescued by a joint team of police, fire department personnel, and locals.
He was first rushed to Kundheigola Hospital for initial treatment, then transferred to Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital. As his condition deteriorated critically, he was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, where he was admitted to the ICU. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to poison-related complications late at night.
