Bhubaneswar: The depression over south Odisha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph in the last six hours.
According to the latest weather bulletin by the India Meteorological Department, the system lay centered over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining south interior Odisha, near latitude 20.9°N and longitude 82.4°E, close to north-northwest of Nuapada (Odisha) and about 80 km east-southeast of Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
It was located about 130 km south-southwest of Champa and 140 km south of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.
The IMD said the system is very likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and maintain its intensity of depression during the next 12 hours and weaken into a well-marked low pressure area during the subsequent 12 hours.The system is under continuous surveillance by the Doppler Weather Radars at Sambalpur and Raipur, the IMD added.
