Bhubaneswar: The depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression, the IMD said on Saturday.
According to the 11:30 am observation today, the system has intensified into a deep depression and is moving southwestwards at a speed of 5 kmph.
It is centered about 870 km east-southeast of Visakhapatnam and 1130 km east of Bapatla.A red warning has been issued for heavy rain in various districts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana due to the possible cyclone on October 28.
As per the warning, red alert has been issued for 11 districts in Andhra Pradesh, 5 districts in Odisha, 4 districts in Chhattisgarh and 4 districts in Telangana.
