Bhadrak: A devastating fire broke out late last night in Chhatrapada village under Narendrapur panchayat of Tihidi block in Bhadrak, leaving a trail of destruction.
Over nine houses were reduced to ashes, killing 10 cows and 10 goats. The blaze also destroyed 200 bags of paddy and furniture. Seven families are now homeless, leaving the community in shock.
Though fire brigade arrived on the information of the villagers, the houses were already gutted by the time. Local administrative officials and people’s representatives have reached the scene to assess the damage. The cause of the fire is unclear, but an electrical short circuit is suspected.
The affected families, as well as the villagers,s have demanded immediate relief, food, and temporary shelter.
