Bhubaneswar: State Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a review meeting of the Kanupur, Subranarekha, and Anandpur irrigation projects. The meeting assessed the progress of these vital projects, which aim to boost agricultural development in the region.

The Kanupur Irrigation Project is nearing completion, with 94% of the main canal and 75% of the distribution system already finished. Despite delays due to early monsoon rains, the project is expected to provide Rabi irrigation to 12,000 hectares in the next season. However, the construction of depletion gullies and some gates is still pending.

The Subranarekha Irrigation Project has completed its Phase-I work, and Phase-II is progressing well. The canal is complete, and 12,000 hectares of the Baitarani South area have been developed.

The Anandpur project is also making significant progress. The Link K Taat Canal and Salandi Left Main Canal are nearing completion, with one distribution system already finished and others advancing rapidly.
