Bhubaneswar: DG Police Sunil Kumar Bansal on Monday formally inaugurated the Crime Management System (CMS) application which can run on both desktop and mobile phones, developed by the Odisha State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
The inauguration ceremony held at the DGP Camp Office here at the Police Seva Bhavan was attended by SCRB Director Vinaytosh Mishra, IG Provisioning Yatindra Koyal and DIG, SCRB Satyajit Naik. The Superintendents of Police of all police districts attended the event over video conference.
The Odisha SCRB has won the 1st prize at the 4th conference of Good Practices held at NCRB, New Delhi for the development of the (aforementioned) Crime Management System.
CMS module is a comprehensive and integrated application platform with an objective to maximize the utilization of IT infrastructure by harnessing the CCTNS data in user friendly format.
It improves police performance for effective monitoring and analysis of crime, offers features like Centralized monitoring, tracking and management of cases, Interactive & integrated platform for crime review, Interactive dashboard of graphical & statistical report and Integrated with Core Application Software with alerts & notifications.
Odisha Police clinched three National-level awards – Interlinking of ICJS with FSL (2nd Prize), Award for best practices for Crime Management System (CMS), and SAACAR (1st Position), reports stated.
“The CMS module encompasses all the components of 5-T and has brought about a transformation in the investigation, supervision, and overall functioning of the Police department to maximize citizen satisfaction,” the SCRB stated in a press note.
