Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Monday inaugurated a newly developed official website of the Odisha Police, aimed at enhancing public service delivery, transparency and digital engagement with citizens.
The website was unveiled during a special programme held at the State Police Headquarters. Developed using modern digital tools and knowledge systems, the platform has been launched in both Odia and English to ensure wider accessibility for the public across the state. The DGP said the new website would serve as a comprehensive and user-friendly interface through which citizens can easily access important information and services offered by the police department.
Highlighting its utility, the DGP stated that the website would play a crucial role in strengthening communication between the Odisha Police and the general public in the coming days. Citizens will be able to obtain a wide range of police-related information through computers, laptops and mobile devices in a simple and convenient manner.
The website hosts multiple features, including online citizen services, police-related information, notices and press releases, recruitment updates, traffic and road safety awareness content, crime prevention advisories, legal provisions, public messages and other important information relevant to citizens.
Senior police officers attended the inauguration programme. Those present included Director, State Forensic Science Laboratory, Santosh Bala; Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar; Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Prateek Mohanty; Deputy Inspector General of Police (Provisioning) Charan Singh Meena. All district Superintendents of Police and senior officers from police battalions joined the programme virtually.
With its bilingual format and integrated citizen-centric services, the newly launched website is expected to significantly improve public access to police information and strengthen transparency in policing across Odisha.
