Cuttack: Odisha DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has once again called upon the Maoists to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream on Monday.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 65th Police Martyr Memorial Day at the state police headquarters in Cuttack today, Khurania said that Odisha Police have achieved great success in curbing Maoist violence in the state and they plan to end the menace by 2026. He appealed to the Left Wing Extremists (LWE) to give up arms and join the mainstream.
Senior police officials including the DGP were present at the event and paid floral tributes to Amar Shaheed Javans.
Khurania informed that two members of Odisha Police were martyred this year while performing their dutiies. They are Constables Pradeep Kumar Mallik and Himanshu Shekhar Rath. Their families were also present at the programme.
