Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Sunday seized the phone of journalist Akshay Nayak for further investigation into the death of Dharmendra Sahoo, the Zilla Parishad Member of Nimapara, who had committed suicide in Bhubaneswar.
Nayak today reached the Bhubaneswar DCP office in connection with the notice served to him by Commissionerate Police over a viral audio clip. Sahoo had spoken with Akshay over telephone moments before his death. He was questioned in connection with the audio and his phone was seized for further probe.
Sahoo was found hanging at his residence here on September 24. His post-mortem report revealed that he died due to asphyxiation and there was no other injury on his body.
Commissionerate Police had earlier sent two mobile phones of Sahoo to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for examination. The phones had been recovered after his death from a plot near his house.
