Dhenkanal: A Class VIII girl of Dhalpur Nodal High School at Dhalpur under Motanga police limits of Dhenkanal district has knocked the door of the Collector after she missed the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) examination due to alleged negligence of the school authorities.
Reportedly, the student identified as Smrutirani Rout had come to know about the NMMS examination through a newspaper advertisement and had submitted her application. However, while many other students received admit cards for the examination, she did not receive her admit card.
Aas the school authorities had reportedly not sent the required documents for the examination, she approached the Headmistress for clarification. But the Headmistress spoke with her in an abusive and threatening tone. In the meantime, Smrutirani missed the examination that was held on March 6.
Subsequently, Smrutirani took her complaint to District Education Officer (DEO) Nibedita Pani. While Pani has assured to conduct an enquiry into the matter, Smrutirani today approached the Collector office in this regard and has sought action against the negligent persons.
