Bhubaneswar: The district administration of Keonjhar has established a Dialysis Centre at Community Health Centre (CHC) in Barbil. It will provide facility to the citizens residing in around Joda/Barbil who were earlier required to travel to either District Headquarters Hospital, Keonjhar or SCB MCH, Cuttack.
The dialysis centre was inaugurated by Champua MLA Minakshi Mahanta in the presence of Barbil Municipality Chairman, Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare, Sub-Collector Champua, CDM & PHO Keonjhar, Executive Officer, Barbil Municipality and other government officials.
The building has been constructed at a cost of Rs 50.75 lakhs funded under DMF Keonjhar. The Dialysis Centre is equipped with a total 5 Dialysis Machines installed by Health & Family Welfare Department. The Dialysis Centre will be run by H&FW Department on PPP mode. It will provide Haemodialysis services for 6 days in a week (Sunday closed).
The centre is equipped with advanced technology machines and will be managed by a team of super specialist doctors, experienced staff nurses and trained technicians.
“It is envisioned that the centre will improve accessibility of health services for citizens, especially tribals residing in & around mining affected areas of Joda/Barbil. This will also ensure better health & wellbeing of the people suffering from Chronic & Acute Kidney diseases,” a senior Government official said.
