Worker Dies In Crusher Accident At Rungta Steel Plant In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A worker lost his life after being crushed in a crusher near the hopper at the RMHS 2 unit of Rungta Steel Plant in Nimabahali, under the Balimi police station limits in Dhenkanal district on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Biswabharat Sahu, alias Dona, was a resident of Gudidiha village under the Motanga police station. He was working near the crusher at the RMHS 2 unit when the accident occurred. The crusher suddenly collapsed, crushing him. The company authorities immediately rescued him and rushed him to a private hospital in Cuttack for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Following the tragic incident, Sahu’s family members staged a dharna near the factory, demanding compensation. Police and company officials held discussions with the family to resolve the matter.
