Diarrhoea Outbreak In Bolangir’s Puintala Block; 2 Dead, 50 Affected

Bolangir: Diarrhoea outbreak has been reported at Lakhpalli village under Puintala block of Bolangir district.

According to reports, while two women are suspected to have died of diarrhoea, 50 others are affected with the disease in Lakhpalli.

Four persons suffering from the disease have been admitted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital at Bolangir in critical condition. Other affected persons are undergoing treatment in the village.

While one woman died of diarrhoea five days back, a young woman succumbed to the disease today morning.

Though the exact cause behind the spread of the disease has not been ascertained yet, people have alleged that drinking contaminated tube well water could be the reason.
