Titlagarh-Jail-Case

Titlagarh: A day after the escape of two under-trials prisoners (UTP) from Titlagarh jail, the DIG of Prisons, Sambalpur on Monday held the jail staff responsible for the incident.

DIG visited the jail on Monday after which he came up with such revelation. Behera also revealed that the under-trials escaped after climbing wall no-4 with the help of a ladder.  Besides, CCTV footage of the camera installed there has been deleted. The murder accused managed to escape because of sheer negligence on the part of jail staff.

Though the incident took place on Saturday night, police are yet to nab the absconding under-trial prisoners.

According to sources, the accused identified as Sumit Bihari, and Shobhavan Rana were lodged in jail in separate murder cases.

Sorcerer Sushobhan Rana was arrested for allegedly killing two children to appease God at Sindheikela while Sumit Bihari had killed a toddler by throwing him into a well on Kesinga Hospital premises.

Jailer Chaitanya Pradhan had filed a complaint with Titilagarh police station in this regard.

Both the UTPs were very loyal to the jailer and they were moving inside and outside the jail without any hindrance. Both were engaged in computer work in the jail, the jailer said.
