Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Dilip Ray today moved Orissa High Court against Rourkela MLA Sarada Nayak who had allegedly provided incomplete and false information in an election affidavit while filing nomination for contesting the Assembly poll.

Ray, who lost to Nayak from Rourkela Assembly Constituency, prayed to the Court to declare the election void.

The BJP leader alleged that Nayak concealed information about the criminal case filed against him and provided incomplete details of his movable and immovable properties.

A complaint was lodged with the Returning Officer in this regard during the time of election. The complaint remained unheeded, Ray alleged in his petition.

The BJP leader prayed to the High Court to declare Nayak’s election void and scrap his Assembly membership as he had furnished false and incomplete information in his nomination papers.

Notably, Sarada Nayak of BJD won the election against Ray from Rourkela in the recently concluded Assembly polls.
