Bhubaneswar: Congress candidate from Athagarh Assembly constituency has returned his ticket after being disappointed over the selection of the candidates for Cuttack Lok Sabha segment.
Congress candidate Mehbub Ahmed Khan has returned the ticket. He wanted Bibhuti Mishra to contest from Cuttack Lok Sabha seat. Congress has nominated Suresh Mohapatra for the Cuttack Lok Sabha seat
Not only in Athagarh, but the issue of ticket distribution has been seen in various places. State Congress spokesperson Sudharsan Das held a press conference after he was dropped from the list of candidates. He said that Congress cannot make progress in Odisha only because of some self-destructive activities of the leaders.
Similarly, the Congress first nominated Dulal Pradhan for the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat. But later the party replaced him with Nagendra Pradhan. Annoyed by such decision, he also resigned from the party.
