Bhubaneswar: DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) tests will be carried out on blood stains found on the clothing of suspects in the Sahadev Nayak murder case, which occurred near the Rasulgarh flyover.
The blood samples were sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) on Tuesday for analysis, as confirmed by a probe team from the Commissionerate Police-Bhubaneswar.
According to police sources, the Commissionerate Police is meticulously reviewing footage from 55 CCTV cameras as part of the investigation. The special squad of the Commissionerate Police has already apprehended five individuals suspected of involvement in the murder.
Investigations suggest the motive behind the crime is rooted in past enmity and the accused’s alleged involvement in the brown sugar (heroin) trade.
The case remains open and further developments are expected as the investigation continues, officials stated.
