Sundargarh: In a shocking and disturbing incident, the body of a newborn girl was found abandoned in a park near Mahesdihi under Sundergarh Town police station, on Wednesday morning. The gruesome discovery was made when residents spotted dogs feeding on the infant’s remains.

It is suspected that the baby was aborted and the body was wrapped in a polythene sheet before being dumped in the park. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many condemning the cruel act.

According to local councillor Sumant Sahu, a few tribal people found the body of the baby girl being dumped near the park, and dogs were seen feeding on the remains. The locals immediately informed police, who arrived at the scene and retrieved the body. It’s unfortunate that people despite being educated continue to abandon or discard female infants.”
