Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated preparations for the General Elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) scheduled in 2027, with a statewide door-to-door (D2D) survey for updating the electoral rolls set to begin next month.
According to a notification issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department, the physical door-to-door (D2D) survey will be conducted from October 26 to November 7, 2026. The cut-off date for inclusion of new voters has been fixed as January 1, 2027. The draft electoral roll is scheduled to be generated on the same day, while the final electoral roll will be published on February 10, 2027.
In a letter addressed to the Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations and Executive Officers of Municipalities and Notified Area Councils (NACs), Under Secretary J. Durjyodhan Patro has directed officials to extend full cooperation and support to the survey teams for timely completion of the exercise as per the schedule prescribed by the State Election Commission.
As part of the preparatory process, a state-level training programme for Master Trainers will be held on September 23 at the ground floor of the State Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.
The survey aims to ensure an accurate and updated voter list ahead of the 2027 Panchayat and urban body elections across the state.
