Bhubaneswar: A gruesome double murder has shaken Pandirisala village under Rairakhol police limits in Sambalpur.
Abraham Kujur and his wife Kuanri Kujur of the village were found brutally murdered inside their home on Saturday night.
Initial reports suggest that unidentified miscreants sneaked into the house and hacked the couple to death. The motive behind the killing is still unclear, but family members suspect a dispute between Abraham’s family and his brother-in-law may be connected to the crime.
Senior police officials, including Rairakhol SDPO Prashant Meher, rushed to the scene and launched investigation.
“We are investigating the matter, and a forensic team will conduct a detailed examination. Preliminary evidence suggests the couple may have been killed with a sharp weapon,” Meher said.
Family members, who were sleeping in the same house, came to know about the incident after hearing the screams of the couple.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
