Dowry Death In Jajpur: Five Including Victim’s Hubby Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Five persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman whose partially burnt body was found in Jari Panchayat in Jajpur district.

The victim, a resident of Rajkanika in Kendrapada district, was married to Dinabandhu Samal from Jari Panchayat  under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur 15 years ago.

The victim’s family has accused her husband and in-laws of her murder.

Her family alleged that she was subjected to physical and mental torture by her in-laws demanding more dowry.  They accused her husband of insisting her to bring Rs 50,000 from her father.

The victim’s burnt body was discovered in the backyard of her home on Wednesday following which Binjharpur police launched an investigation.

The accused, including the husband Dinabandhu Samal, have been arrested and interrogation is underway.
