Bhubaneswar: The driver of a Hyva truck was charred to death when the vehicle caught fire after coming in contact with an overhead live 11 k electric wire near Gitarani Mines under Koida police limits of Sundargarh district on Saturday.
Reportedly, the truck had visited the mines to load some goods. When the driver lifted the container of the Hyva, it came in contact with the wire and suddenly caught fire. The driver was unable to escape from the vehicle and died on the spot.
On getting information, the fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the flames with help of locals. Police from Tensa Police Outpost also reached the scene and initiated a probe into the incident.
