Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, a truck driver and his helper were killed when the truck in which they were travelling skidded off the Doda bridge and plunged 50 feet down near Kalta police outpost under Koida police limits early morning today in Sundargarh district.
The identities of the deceased persons have not been established.
According to reports, the truck carrying minerals was on its way to Rourkela from Koida when it met with an accident in the morning today.
The truck plunged 50 feet down after skidding off the bridge.
The driver and helper were crushed under the truck. Both were killed on the spot.
Koida police on reaching the spot retrieved the bodies and sent those for an autopsy at the nearest hospital.
Police have seized the truck and have launched an investigation.
