Bhubaneswar: Despite repeated warnings and restrictions, a drone was again spotted flying over the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri early this morning, raising serious questions over the security arrangements of the 12th-century shrine.
According to reports, the drone was seen hovering over the Srimandir at around 5 am today. It is suspected that video footage of the temple was being captured using the drone. It is still unclear who flew the drone and from where it was operated. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
This is not the first such incident. Drones have been spotted flying over the Srimandir on several occasions in the past, despite the area being declared a no-drone zone. The repeated violations have sparked resentment among devotees and raised concerns over the temple’s security.
Devotees have expressed strong displeasure over the incident and demanded immediate installation of anti-drone technology to prevent such occurrences in the future, so that no one can fly drones over the shrine.
