DVF Seizes Huge Maoist Cache In Kandhamal

Maoist Cache In Kandhamal

Bhubaneswar: In a significant anti-Maoist operation, the Kandhamal District Voluntary Force (DVF), a special constabulary unit of the Odisha Police, recovered a large cache of Maoist materials from Pangurmila village under Baliguda police station limits in Kandhamal district on Sunday.

During a routine combing operation, the DVF team discovered a concealed dump believed to have been abandoned by Maoist cadres. The recovered items included explosives, weapons, and essential supplies, indicating that the site may have been used as a temporary hideout.

According to police, the recovered items include two drums, a bundle of black polythene sheets, a red cloth, two Naxal pants, a Naxal shirt, two kilograms of salt, one kilogram of Amul powder, pencil batteries, four mortar shells, various medicines, a thermos flask, two soap cases, an umbrella, bundles of polythene and wire, two additional pants, three tiffin boxes, three blankets, two utensils with covers, a shoe, two booby-trap batteries, two pairs of slippers, three detonators, two waist belts, a bundle of plastic rope, a solar plate, 20 kilograms of rice, 12 tubes of toothpaste, and a bundle of fuse wire.

Police officials said that further search operations are continuing in the area to trace any additional Maoist hideouts or materials.
