Bhubaneswar: Krushi Odisha-2026, a landmark agri-expo, was inaugurated today at the Biju Patnaik Playground in Bhubaneswar by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
The event aims to revolutionize Odisha’s agricultural sector through innovation, market linkage, and sustainable practices. Krushi Odisha provides a platform for institutional interaction and partnership to strengthen the agricultural ecosystem, said Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Dr Padhee.
The expo’s key objectives include showcasing best products, practices, and emerging technologies that drive farm profitability, developing understanding of value chain management of agri-commodities, and initiating a platform for interface and linkage among market players and agri-preneurs.
Two technical sessions were held, focusing on Market Driven Speciality Rice Cultivation and Promoting Seedpreneurs Sustainable Seed Production.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed, launching the Odisha Agriculture Drought Mitigation Program. The event also featured demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies like drones in agriculture and exhibitions of best farm practices.
Dignitaries include, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, VC OUAT, Dr Pravat Kumar Roul, DG ICRISAT, Dr Himanshu Pathak, Director Agriculture Shubham Saxena, Director Horticulture Kalunge Gorakh Waman, Director Soil Conservation &Watershed Management Subrat Kumar Panda were attended the program.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the state level farm mechanization Mela and exhibitions, successful farmers were falicitated.
