Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission has decided to deploy one more CAPF company in Jajpur district ahead of the last phase Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State.
Earlier, it was decided that 20 companies of CAPF would be deployed, but the commission has changed the decision and added one more company. With this, the overall number of CAPF companies increased to 126, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Dhal stated.
Jajpur is an important Lok Sabha constituency among 21 others in Odisha, which comprises of Binjharpur, Bari, Barchana, Dharmasala, jajpur, Korei and Sukinda Assembly constituencies.
Six Parliamentary constituencies including Jajpur and 42 Assembly segments under them will go to poll on June 1.
