Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday issued a notification for the elections to the 56 Rajya Sabha seats, including three from Odisha, scheduled for February 27.
According to the notification, candidates desiring to contest the elections can file nomination papers from February 8 to 15. The nominations will be scrutinized on February 16 and the names of valid candidates will be published on the same day.
The last date of withdrawal of nominations is February 20.
Voting for all the 56 seats will be conducted between 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on February 27 and counting of the ballot will be done from 5.00 pm onwards.
It is worth mentioning here that polls will be conducted for three Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha held by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Prasant Nanda, and Amar Patnaik, whose terms end on April 3, 2024.
