Bhubaneswar: To strengthen passenger safety and improve the reliability of railway infrastructure, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) will undertake safety-related modernisation and maintenance work in the Sambalpur–Maneswar section during May 2026, officials said on Friday.
In view of the maintenance work, ECoR has announced the temporary cancellation of two train services on select dates.
Train No. 18126 Puri–Rourkela Express will remain cancelled for journeys commencing on May 17, 19, 20 and 31, 2026.
Similarly, Train No. 18125 Rourkela–Puri Express will also remain cancelled for journeys commencing on May 17, 19, 20 and 31, 2026.
Railway authorities advised passengers to take note of the temporary changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
Passengers have also been urged to check the latest train running status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) and official railway enquiry services before commencing their journey, the statement added.
